Our client is currently looking for an experienced skilled Leading Production Fitter in Sydney for an exciting new project.
Our client specialises in the consultancy, design, installation, maintenance and repair of radio communications, transmission and power facilities management. They are primarily focused on the telepower sector following Telstra’s decision to outsource this work.
We are currently seeking an Electrical Fitter to work in our clients production area, someone who understands drawings and is able to put components together to make finished items. The right person would need cabling and wiring skills for the internal connections of builds, mechanical skills in bolting / screwing things together, understanding wiring diagrams and build documents. Electrical knowledge of AC and DC wiring would be a requirement. Testing and commissioning of completed builds would be an advantage but not a requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Apply electrical knowledge to manufacture, fit out and check commissioning of AC to DC power systems.
- Be able to assemble electrical and electronic power system’s using drawings, work instructions and BOM’s.
- Be able to connect the new system to the AC power supply to ensure it functions correctly.
- Be able to test and commission power system’s, including both “Standard Systems” and “Non Standard Systems”
- Be able to decide what parts and materials are required for assembly, and ensure materials lists (BOM’s) are updated at job completion.
- Be able to make, alter and assemble metal parts.
- Be able to connect wires and cables to terminals or connectors according to wiring diagrams and regulations.
- Be able to operate and maintain tools such as drill press, cable crimpers, both hand and hydraulic, and hand tools.
Prerequisites:
- Must be able to fully function test new equipment.
- Must have the ability to fault find on new equipment.
- Must have good eyesight and normal colour vision.
- Must be able to do precise and accurate work.
- Drivers Licence.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
